Composer’s Notes For Peace is based on the prayer by John Paul II.
"Today, in the turmoil of religious and cultural skirmishes, I feel that peace should be the primary aspect of every conscious person. Being an orthodox, I wrote this
piece that combined some traditions of modern orthodox music with some early
catholic chants. The stylistics of the choir gently reflects some very influential
streams of sacred music of the neighboring Ukrainian area.
Some listeners might hear a bit of Igor Stravinsky, some would catch the echo of
Arvo Part’s creations. My intention was to write this prayer in a more traditional aspect, rather than trying to be radically inventive.
The main goal of this choir is to spread the message of peace that would
be easily perceive by everyone."
